Sony disassociate themselves from 10:10

I just received the following email from Nick Sharples, Sony Europe’s Director of Communications:

Dear Mr. Pillai,

Thank you for your email concerning the video released by the 10:10 climate change campaign group. Sony has supported the 10:10 climate change campaign because we share its objective to reduce carbon emissions. However, we strongly condemn the “No Pressure” video which was conceived, produced and released by 10:10 entirely without the knowledge or involvement of Sony. The company considers the video to be ill-conceived and in extremely bad taste. We also believe the video risks undermining the work of the many thousands of members of the public, schools and universities, local authorities and many businesses, of which Sony is one, who support the long-term aims of the 10:10 movement and who are actively working towards the reduction of carbon emissions.

As a result we have taken the decision to disassociate ourselves from 10:10 at this time.

In our press statement we will be posting tomorrow morning we reaffirm our ongoing commitment to the reduction of global carbon emissions as part of our ‘Road to Zero’ environmental plan.

Yours sincerely,

Nick

Why not go a bit further and admit this whole thing is a made up pack of lies with no scientific evidence to support it. Quite the reverse, in fact. The planet has been far warmer in the past and also carbon dioxided levels have been far higher. This is one massive con and a money-making industry with that ******** Al Gore owning one of the largest carbon trading companies in the world. Luckily, anyone with half a brain knows it’s all ********. STOP BRAINWASHING AND FRIGHTENING CHILDREN WITH YOUR FOUNDLESS PROPAGANDA.

Thank you in anticipation of some truth just for once.

Excellent job in contacting Sony and getting them to act. Just so you know that there are others who support you in this cause, here is a copy of a letter I sent to Sony on the 4th, before this thread was brought to my attention:

    Dear Ms. DeGenaro:

I’m writing to you because you were one of the few people at Sony Corporation who’s email address I was able to locate. Please pass along these comments to whomever you believe would be most interested in this feedback.

Recently I was directed to an environmental activism group call 10:10 with a website at:

    http://www.1010global.org/

Yesterday (10-03-10), on 10:10′s UK page, Sony, along with the Sony logo, was listed as a sponsor, and at least three divisions of Sony show up in the “Businesses on Board” finder.

Recently, 10:10 put out a controversial video which was intended for use in advertising campaigns across the world. After receiving considerable criticism, 10:10 removed the video from their website, but I have been informed that these ads are still being aired in certain parts of the world. I have included a link to this video, along with some commentary, at my website, which you can review here:

    http://go-galt.org/climategate.html#INTIMIDATION

From this point forward I will never look at a Sony product in a store without thinking of innocent children’s heads being exploded and their blood and guts splattered about. All because they thought for themselves, didn’t march in lockstep with their comrades, and failed to immediately adopt the viewpoint of those who assert the authority to decide what is best for them. Of course, this was all done in good fun.

I’m not laughing, and neither is anyone else who sees this video.

These are the sorts of people with whom Sony has chosen to associate, and this global ecological movement, which is nothing more than a propaganda campaign used to support a global totalitarianism, is the political agenda Sony has elected to back — whether consciously or not.

I thought you should get some feedback from someone who was a former Sony customer. You are destroying your brand and harming the world while you support what you may believe is a good cause. I suggest you wake up and start paying closer attention to what is really going on in the environmental/ecological movement, learn what it is actually promoting, and then reevaluate what sort of position is actually in Sony’s best long-range interest.

    Regards,

    C. Jeffery Small

Sent one to Kyocera & got this reply
    Hi Chris,

    Many thanks for your email.

We would like our customers to know that Kyocera Mita Australia acts independently from other Kyocera subsidiary groups around the world, and does not share the same relationships and endorsements. As with Kyocera Mita UK, we were also shocked by the release of the “No Pressure” video from 10:10 and agree that it was created by the group with a serious lack of judgement.

The Kyocera group has a long-standing and sincere commitment to reducing its environmental impact and to promoting environmentally-efficient use of office machines. For more information on our environmental credentials please visit our environment page at http://www.kyoceramita.com.au/environment/Pages/default.aspx.

Again Kyocera Mita Australia would like to reiterate that we operate entirely independently from the 10:10 organisation and do not support the “No Pressure” video at any level.

    Kind Regards,

    Kyocera Mita Australia
